The 29th October 2011 was the wedding date for Lisa & Adam and Blackbrook House in Belper Derbyshire was the glorious venue for this wedding. There was lots to love about this wedding, some of my highlights include the splendid home-grown pumpkins adorning the tables and creating a beautiful orange and green colour scheme, the surprise appearance of two sheep dogs during the service (maybe not a highlight for the bride and groom but as a mad dog lover it made me smile) but most importantly of all the happiness radiating from Adam and Lisa was evident all day, there were so many beautiful candid moment and expressions to capture at this wedding, it was a joy

From the first time I met Lisa we hit it off, her lovely bubbly personality and enthusiasm for her forthcoming wedding on the 16th October 2011 to Faraz was infectious and I was excitedly looking forward to their gloriously colourful Asian wedding. Everybody made me feel really welcome on the day and thanks again to bridesmaid Zara for all her help and brilliant organisational skills on the day!! This wedding also involved me working with my good friend Shaza who is a make-up artist and did an amazing job creating the 2 very individual and fabulous ‘looks’ for the special day. I especially enjoyed our little trip to the Sheffield Botanical Gardens where Lisa & Faraz were able to bask in the beautiful sunshine and I could capture the lovely couple enjoying some time-out.
The celebrating started two weeks earlier on the 6th October at the Mehndi party at Kenwood Hall…

The wedding day itself took place at The Royal Victoria Hotel in Sheffield…

Sally & Dave got married on a beautiful autumnal day – the 7th October 2011. The day started with me photographing the bridal preparations at Christians at The Beauchief, Sheffield. Sally was a very laid back bride even finding time to decorate the cake in the morning and get everybody ready, she was so laid back in fact that it was a good job the driver of her car mentioned an earlier bride that had set off to the church minus her bouquet…. yes back to Christians it was! So in true tradition Sally kept Dave waiting at the alter arriving late for the service at Holy Trinity Church in Millhouses. After the service we headed to the Beauchief Gardens for some photographs (thanks again to the lovely bridesmaid Hannah for joining us and making sure the dress was always looking perfect). Back at Christians guests were enjoying a drink before the wedding breakfast and speeches. The evening started with the traditional first dance, and I’m sure the dance floor continued to fill as I left the happy couple and their guests. A fab day – many congrats xx

Karen & Carl got married on the 23rd September 2011, and what a beautiful day it turned out be. Friends and family had travelled from far and wide including the exotic climates of Mauritius where the bride is from, Barbados where Best Man Carlos is from and the equally glamorous Newcastle where the Grooms family had travelled from
It was a day definitely worth the trip with Karen’s meticulous planning paying off & everything looking stunning on the day. We had the chance to stop en-route from the beautiful service carried out at Our Lady & St Thomas in Woodseats, Sheffield before heading to the Maynard, Grindleford in the Peak District. A great day was had by all, many congrats to the new Mr & Mrs!! xxx

This was another wedding I was particularly looking forward to this year & was to attend as both a guest and the photographer. It was the wedding day of Barbara & Mark on the 17th September 2011 at Tankersley Manor. I have known Mark all his life so was delighted to be asked to photograph the day having previously photographed Michelle’s – Mark’s sister & Bridesmaid, and Olly’s, the Best Man. So it was lovely to see so many familiar faces… Babs you looked absolutely stunning on the day, and so many people complimented your gorgeous champagne gown, I absolutely loved it. We had what the weatherman would describe as ‘changeable’ weather with myself and Mark furtively darting in and out of Tankersley to assess the level of drizzle – we did get out on the lawn though – so thanks again to all the ladies for risking hat/fascinator ruin and sinking into the grass! The finale of the day was awesome, who said Elvis was dead!! This was a brilliant day from start to finish & with Mark’s detailed preparations and precise spreadsheets everything went without a hitch. For a bloke that said he would never get married you looked very very happy indeed

Kate & Ben got married on a sunny September day – Saturday the 10th. The location for the wedding was the stunning Hellaby Hall in Rotherham. Originally a 17th Century Manor House, this beautiful building along with its lovely gardens provides the perfect backdrop for a wedding. There was a lot of fun and laughter at this wedding. It was evident what a brilliant day everybody had. You both looked really happy – many congrats to the new Mr & Mrs Jackson

The 29th August 2011 took me back to Hassop Hall and the wedding of Sarah & Ian. A beautiful location and a stunning bride in an amazing pink Blissful Daze gown made this the perfect fairytale wedding. The whole day was fabulous and everybody had a fantastic time. Hope you have an amazing honeymoon xx

In contrast to the day before, the 27th August 2011 was gloriously sunny (if not a little windy, although this did blow the veil around in a beautiful fashion!) This was the wedding day of Tina & James, with the wedding taking place at St Michael & All Angels in Great Houghton and the reception at The Stables in High Melton. There was a brilliant atmosphere at this wedding, with the whole wedding party adding to this greatly – your 6 bridesmaids were great fun, I love all that running about we did (or rather you did, thanks also for sinking in that grass for me!) Many congrats to both of you & I’m sure you will be very happy together xxx

What a beautiful wedding on the 26th August 2011; this was the wedding of Claire & Daniel, and it was a very wet day but this certainly didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits and we did pop out in-between showers and of course the heart-shaped brolly made an appearance! The wedding took place at the gorgeous St James Church in Ravenfield, with the fun and celebrating at one of my fave’s Ringwood Hall in Chesterfield. There was a lovely vintage feel to this wedding, and it was a joy to photograph

OOOOOOO I was even more excited than usual for this wedding as it was the wedding of very good friends Claire & Rob on the 6th August 2011. The wedding took place at the beautiful St Basil’s Church in Newport with the reception at the equally gorgeous Cwrt Bleddyn in Usk. Not only was I photographing the day but Gaz (the other half!) was Best Man – therefore jointly we had quite a role to play!! But what a lovely role that was…… I enjoyed this day from the second I arrived at Claire’s parents house to the early hours of the morning, I think around 3am, when I left the stragglers…. (the Bride/Groom/Best Man/Dads/Mums/Stag/Hen do entourage) singing in the bar…. It’s been tough putting a few of my fave shots from the day into this as there are so many… lots more to follow guys
EVERYBODY had a brilliant day, EVERYTHING/EVERYONE looked amazing & it was a day we will all remember. Lots of love to you both XXXXXXXX
